The Social Equity Cannabis Chamber: Pioneering Leadership
The Kalamazoo Social Equity Cannabis Chamber, established in partnership with the City of Kalamazoo's Office of Economic Development, is dedicated to increasing diversity and inclusion in the cannabis industry, with a focus on entrepreneurship and workforce development. We provide a variety of events, webinars, workshops, and educational resources, creating a robust ecosystem for learning and growth in the cannabis sector. Consider us your go-to hub for knowledge and resources in the industry.
Our Initial Social Equity Chamber Priorities
Existing Cannabis Business Support: Offering comprehensive assistance and resources to support social equity initiatives, staff retention, and the overall success of existing cannabis businesses. We will also support community engagement with current operators.
Workforce Development: Creating and implementing training programs to build a skilled workforce that meets the evolving needs of the cannabis industry. Also, partnering with KVCC for reimbursement and on the job training.
Jobs Board: Establishing a dedicated platform to connect City residents, focusing on the SPK neighborhoods, with employment opportunities in the cannabis sector, promoting local hiring and training initiatives.
Ancillary Business Entrepreneurship Support & Development: Encouraging the growth of ancillary businesses through entrepreneurship support and development programs, enhancing the ecosystem surrounding the cannabis industry.
